Hi, I'm Daniella
Experienced nanny & family support in Poole, Dorset — warm, reliable childcare with over 20 years' experience.
About me
About Daniella
I was born in London, raised in LA. I have lived in Poole for a long time now, and I love it here. I've been looking after children for over 20 years.
I trained in yoga, nutritional therapy, and ran a natural health clinic for 10 years. I also coach women through postnatal and maternal health, as well as relationships, and wrote a book on it. Helping babies and women is my heart's work.
I have three children of my own — Leela (16), Rumi (14), and Angelo (11½) — and I bring the same love and care to every family I work with.
My approach
How I Work
My approach is gentle and child-led, inspired by natural rhythms rather than rigid schedules — imaginative play, storytelling, music, and plenty of time outdoors. I favour natural materials and imaginative, unstructured play over screens, and I believe children do their best exploring, learning, and playing at their own pace, without being rushed. Waldorf (the work of Rudolf Steiner) and attachment parenting shape this, with conscious communication and holistic nutrition woven through it all.
I choose one-to-one care over nurseries because it means giving a child my full attention and presence. Building a loving bond with a new adult is a big deal for a child, and I take pride in honouring that.
Working with parents, not just for them
Trusting someone with your child is huge — I understand what a big deal that is, and I work closely with you, as well as your little one, so we're aligned every step of the way.
Parenthood is lighter with support, and I know that from both sides. Seeing both happy children and happy parents is fulfilling and brings me joy.
I build important connections with parents, as well as with children. Some of my closest friendships today are with families I've worked for, and nannies I once hired myself — I know just how it feels to be on your side of it too.

What families say
It is genuinely difficult to put into words just how highly we think of Daniella.
Daniella has been part of our daughter Alana's life since she was only a few months old, right through to now, at two years old, and over that time she has become so much more to us than simply someone who helps care for her. She has become part of Alana's upbringing and, in many ways, part of our family.
We're incredibly protective parents, and inviting somebody new into our lives to look after our pride and joy was a huge deal for us. Daniella originally came to us through a recommendation from a friend, but it very quickly became obvious just how fortunate we had been to find her. From the very beginning, she gave us complete confidence.
She is exceptionally capable, experienced & completely 'on it', which we often say to each other. Her knowledge & understanding of children is obvious, and she has a huge amount of experience with children of different ages. But what makes Daniella so special goes far beyond experience or training. It is the way she is with Alana. She is completely present. She plays with her, talks to her, teaches her, encourages her curiosity & is constantly helping her learn and develop without it ever feeling forced. She brings so much energy, warmth & engagement to the time they spend together. There is never a sense that Alana is simply being “looked after”; Daniella is genuinely invested in her. And Alana absolutely adores her. There is such a lovely bond between them, built through years of trust, fun, consistency and genuine care. For us as parents, seeing how safe, happy & completely herself Alana is around Daniella has always been hugely reassuring.
Daniella is also someone with wonderful values & a very strong moral compass. She is kind, caring, thoughtful, dependable and incredibly trustworthy. We have also had the privilege of getting to know her own children, who are kind, bright, gentle, worldly & lovely young people. They all welcomed Alana so warmly whenever she has spent time with them, & we think they are a wonderful reflection of Daniella herself & the environment she creates around children.
There are very few people we would trust so completely with our daughter, and we do not say that lightly.
Daniella really is worth her weight in gold. Finding somebody who you can trust implicitly with your child, who your child loves so deeply, & who contributes so positively is incredibly rare. We feel extremely lucky that Daniella has been such an important part of Alana's first years.
We genuinely could not recommend her more highly. Any family fortunate enough to have Daniella looking after their children would be getting somebody very special.
If you are looking for someone to care for your child just as you would, giving him/her their full attention and presence, then look no further. Daniella has cared for my youngest daughter Elea since she was 9 months old (she's now 4), going at her pace and adapting to her changing needs. She has vast life experience with her own 3 children and has been so supportive as another parent, who understands how important it is to make the transition of being with someone else as smooth as possible. She is gentle, wise, nurturing and fun. She has also been very flexible and is an exceptional communicator. I always feel calm and reassured that Elea is in the best hands when I'm at work. Elea loves spending time with her and they have a very sweet friendship as a result. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Daniella has been a gift to our family. She brings such a loving and kind energy which is always beautifully attuned to the needs of our daughters. She meets them where they are at, with both ease and playfulness. They absolutely love their time with her (and her kids when possible), and knowing our daughters are safe, happy and well looked after when we are not with them, has been such a blessing!
It's an absolute pleasure to recommend Daniella. We've known her since 2020. My children connected with her straight away — even my shy one, who doesn't usually open up to new people — and I know they're in the best of hands when they're with her.
My son loves going to Daniella's! He has so much fun and is always asking to go back! Daniella is kind, fun, thoughtful. I trust her with my child implicitly. She understands him and meets all his needs. I would 100% recommend Daniella to care for and look after your child.
